The Laser World

If you read the whole S&O story, you have an idea of how the laser came about. I never expected the laser to become such a huge part of S&O. It was always just meant to support the solid wood side. The part where my passion all started.

I wanted to be able to make my boards and flight paddle and carvings and then personalize them, customize them and make them even more unique than the beautiful natural grain of the wood that I hand picked.

But as time went on, and the more I learned the laser program, Lightburn, the more and more into it I got. But it still was frustrating that I wasn’t using those locally sourced woods. I was getting stuff from Home Depot and it wasn’t what I wanted to represent in my business. With time a dear friend who was also in the laser world, Suzie Quinton (the owner of Quintons Crafthouse downtown Collinsville, IL) sent me to Doris at Kunz Carpentry Warehouse in Trenton, IL. Now I could get my laser wood at a small local business! Which made me feel a whole lot better about everything!

With finding local and with the quality of the products at Kuntz Carpentry Warehouse, the laser side was given the chance to go ahead, move forward and expand. It allowed me consistency and much better products than ever before.

So now here I am… making ornaments and decor and all kinds of fun stuff! Right there along with all my solids!

And giving me even more to offer you. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by how much I am now capable of making. But even more so I’m excited about all the things I can make for everyone!
