  • What types of wood do you use?
We primarily use locally sourced woods, chosen for their natural beauty and unique grains. We do not typically use big box store woods and prefer to highlight the natural characteristics of each piece.
  • Do you accept custom orders?
Yes, we specialize in custom orders! Each project is unique, and we love working with clients to bring their visions to life. Please note that there is a $50 design fee for completely custom designs. This goes toward your final total.
  • How do I place a custom order?
To place a custom order, please contact us with your design ideas, measurements, sketches, or photos. We will discuss your vision and provide a detailed estimate based on time and materials. If you don't have any of that and want our artist to create something truly special?- No worries, we can do that too!
  • What is your return policy?
Due to the highly custom nature of our work, we do not accept returns or offer refunds on custom orders. We ensure detailed communication and approval of design proofs before production begins to guarantee your satisfaction.
  • How do you finish your wood products?
Our solid wood products are hand-cut, planed, carved, sanded, and finished in-house. We typically do not stain our wood, preferring to enhance its natural beauty and grain.
  • Can you work with wood that I provide?
We can sometimes accommodate this request, though it's generally not encouraged. Often, customers wish to bring us wood from a recently felled tree. However, wood typically requires one year of drying per inch of thickness for proper drying. Please contact us with photos, dimensions, current drying time, and wood species, so we can assess whether we can accommodate your request.
  • Do you offer design consultations?
Yes, we offer design consultations to discuss your ideas and needs. This helps us ensure that we create a piece that perfectly fits your vision and requirements.
  • What inspired the creation of Silva & Ore?
Silva & Ore started in 2017 with a simple project to make live edge shelves for our son. It quickly grew into a passion for creating unique wood pieces, fueled by our founder AJ’s love for woodworking and the support of her family.
  • Are you a female-owned business?
Yes, Silva & Ore is proudly female-owned and operated. AJ, our main artist, is a woman in trades dedicated to bringing artistry and craftsmanship to every piece.
  • How has AJ’s MS diagnosis influenced Silva & Ore?
AJ’s MS diagnosis in 2018 has further fueled her passion for woodworking, giving her a sense of empowerment and purpose. Her dedication to her craft is reflected in the unique, handcrafted pieces created at Silva & Ore.
  • What does Silva & Ore Mean?
They are the root of our products. noun. silva: the forest trees of a region or country. noun. ore: a naturally occurring solid material from which a metal or valuable mineral extracted.
  • Are the dogs available?
No!! But seeing as they are not much help.....
